Voice Thread...practice
Yesterday during teacher inservice I learned and practiced VoiceThread... here is what I produced using my ipad. This form of online technology has some potential for use in some of my up coming plans both professional and personal (this was my first time and i ddn't bother to go back and edit...i was just practicing, but i think it is cool and want to use it again):

Vases and Flowers for Valentine's Day
Many of the sixth graders are finishing their oak lathe projects just in time for Valentine's Day. Last week they applied three coats of polyurethane and today the vases were waxed and buffed before the flowers are added. Tonight they will be a pleasant Valentine's gift for their mothers.

22 Stations for Intro to Shop for Sixth Grade
Tomorrow the sixth graders will rotate through these 22 stations. We have spent the first two weeks learning shop safety and classroom expectations. The students will each spend between 1-2 minutes at each of these stations as they try their hand at using these tools and machines.
